Tom's New Civil War Hat
This isn't exactly what it looks like, but pretty close. I found it at the thrift store for $1.50. The one below sells for $15-20. I had to rip off the decorative band (green and yellow with sunflowers). I'll put some "manly" band on it, and call it good. Many boys of the time period wore straw hats. He was pretty excited about it :)

he liked it so much, he wanted to wear it to school today. He didn't understand when I told him no. It's a good costume hat, but not for school. Sorry tom :)
