Family Reading Night
So it was family reading night at Jacob and Thomas' school tonight. There were about 3 x more people than usually show up, so it was PACKED! First, we went to a classroom to listen to a teacher read a story. Jacob went upstairs, and the rest of us went to Thomas' classroom. We listened to a story called "Bullfrog Pops" The kids seemed to enjoy it!
Here's Eme with her kitty (oh yah, they were supposed to wear their jammies and bring their stuffed animals)
Joe and his beaver. Don't ask :)
Here's Mrs. Kump, Tom's 1st Grade Teacher!
And here's Miss Martinez, Tom's assistant teacher. She has 1 week left before she's done student teaching.

After the story reading, we all went into the gym. They were having craft time for the kids. There were 4 rows of long tables set up for the kids. The kids were given a printout of an animal mast, then asked to color it, cut it out, and staple it to a Popsicle stick. It was a cute "mask" puppet. Eme, Jacob, and Tom made one. Jim, Joe and I went to look at the free book section. It took us 15 minutes to go along the length of the gym! Crazy amount of people. But we got a few good books. One was a collection of Sherlock Homles stories. Another was "The Hobbit". "The Firm" and "The Summons" by John Grisham, and a few others. Not too bad.
Really, it was a good time. The kids all listened, and no one fought with each other. All in all, it was a good outing!
