New Family

Joe: Mom, I want to have a new family.

Mom: Are you sure, sweetie?

Joe: Yeah, I want a new family.

Mom: Like who?

Joe: Maybe Nathan's (Dodd, from Chicago ward) family.

Mom: So, you don't like us anymore?

Joe: Well, maybe I just want Nathan's house.

Mom: Me too, Joe.

Buckeyes and Bulls

So the first bunch of pics are from the Farm. We got to see the animals, and thought about riding on the ride to the orchard. But the line was 2 hours long, then another 1 hour for the ride. That was just too much waiting. So, we rode the little carriage ride. It was only a few minute wait. Of course, it was only a 3 minute ride, but hey, much more our speed.

The funnest part, by far, was watching the men shake the Buckeye tree. These huge pods would fall from the tree, and hit the innocent bystanders. They would break open, and a buckeye seed would fall to the ground. I loved it. I'd never seen a buckeye before. So fun.

The last few pics are of "our" herd of cattle. They've wandered into camp, and no one has come to get them yet. Ranger Kerry has called the sherrif, but I'm not sure what their doing about it yet. There's 8 of them. 3 moms, 3 babies, and 1 bull. Hmmm, that's only 7. Well, I know there's 8 cows, so there's 1 more, but i'm not sure which category it fits into:)

They were by the new dining hall construction area when we left for our walk, and were by the pavillion when we came back. Crazy cows. They're leaving nasty cow patties all over camp. I'm a little worried that the kids will go out to play, and the cattle will "get" them. Scary cows!

Home Sweet Home

OK, so maybe not so sweet. But, home is where your heart is, and our heart is sure in the right place. We're together as a family, and we can still have fun. Togetherness, right?

Civil War Weekend in Ohio

Here are a few pics from this past weekends Civil War Event. Don't ask where it was, casue I wasn't driving. But it took about 1 1/2 hours to get there from the cabin. Somewhere in Ohio :)

This dial-up thing is terrible. It took 20 mintues to post these 5 pictures. Holy cow. I guess it's better than nothing, though!

After Our Walk

Isn't he precious. This was taken one day when Brent and I and Jim went on a walk. It's kind of nice to only have one home, when it comes to walks. A lot less to tote around. And a lot less weight in the ole stroller :)

Our Little Cabin in the Woods

Last night was Scouts. There was a family there that had 4 0r 5 kids, just like us. I'd seen them around the last few weeks, but hadn't had a chance to talk with her yet. She was really nice.

So, where we were living? she asked.

Scout Camp, I say.

Oh, that's Cute, she said, and smiled. No really, where are you living?

No really, I say. Scout camp. We can't get somewhere new until our house sells.

She thought that because Brent worked for the scouts, that we spent a lot of time out at camp, and it felt like we lived at camp. So she thought I was making a cute joke. If only it was a joke.....

Hi!

Hey all.

I snuck into Brent's co-w0rkers computer to check my balance at the bank, and stopped by here to say hello. It's sure hard to be stranded from technology at Scout camp in the woods, but we're surviving.

We had a good weekend this past weekend. We went to a Civil War event, and to the Farm to see the apple trees and buckeyes, and to a friends house for dinner. Pretty fun, all around.

Today, we're off to the bank, and the dollar store, and back to get the kids from the bus. A lot of picking up and dropping off at the bus going on.

Well, take care!

Back in the Swing of Things

Our camp ranger, Kerry, came buy today and gave me the password and username for the computer. So, I'm online again. But, it's dial-up. Let me tell you, I'm not used to that. Super slow. After cable internet, going back to dial-up is painful. It took me 1 1/2 hours to put on those 2 posts with pics. Talk about a time waster.

So, I may be putting a few pics on now and then, but not with the frequency that I used to. He said that there is talks of putting an internet wireless hotspot across the tracks from here. That would mean internet wireless for all of camp. Can you believe it? Wouldn't that be cool. We'll see if it happens or not.

So, just wanted to let you all know that I'm here, but may not be able to see your blogs too often. The pics take so long to upload. Poor me. Don't you all feel sorry for me :) JK

Sunday After Church

Check out the new pics of Brent and I. Aren't we cute? We had Jacob take our pictures, so sometimes the weird faces we're making is to say "Jacob, do it this way". Other times, the weird faces are to tell the little ones to stop riding their trikes in our picture. Kids....

Awe, aren't we cute :)

B-Day Fun for Jimmy

Jimmy turns 2 on Tuesday, but we didn't have time that day for a party. So, Sunday afternoon it was. What a fun time we had. A german chocolate Lightning McQueen cake. He was so excited. Disney's CARS is his favorite!

See, look at this precious smile....hehehe

He really liked his Lightning McQueen car.

Here he is riding on the toy tractor that the neighbors let us borrow/keep.

Here he is with his new board book. Super cool!
Happy 2nd Bday Jimmy!! We're so glad that you were born :)

I'm Still Here!

Hi all. I'm writing from Brent's office. Actually, it's his staff persons office. We couldn't get his computer hooked up to the internet. My kids are roaming the scout office. Nice, eh?

We're all settled in the cabin in the wood. I actually like it. When we buy a house, I want a deck with a picnic table on it to feed the kids at. Such easy clean up.

The kids started school on Tuesday. Jacob and Tom love it. They have great teachers, and are making new friends. School is 30-35 mintues away. Still haven't worked out the bus thing yet. The bus stop is 15-20 mintues away, and come at 6:25. Maybe I'll just take them in. We can leave at 7:10 to get there on time. More sleep for us all.

Eme and Joe start school next week. Joe gets to go all day, for Tuesdays and Thrusdays, for $30 a months. Not too bad. Eme has all day every day kindergarten. She's totally excited. We went today to get them all signed up.

Tomorrow we sign up for WIC, and Friday is Open house for K and P-K. Tonight is Cub Scouts, which is a lot of fun. We get to go to the church pack again. So nice.

Well, that's all. I can hear the kids from the other room, and they're gettitng rowdy. Time for me to sign off. E-mail me at bnbharty@gmail.com if you want my new phone number for my cell, and my cabin number. We don't get reception out there. Also, if you want my mailing address. Just in case.......

Miss you all! Can't wait till blogging is a daily part of my life again :)

Bethany :)
