Kids on the Pony Ride at Owasippe

At the Horse Ranch

Here we all are getting ready for the horse rides. The kids got to ride the horse in the corral on Friday afternoon. Brent got to go on a trail ride on both Wednesday and Thursday. He had a lot of fun. It was funny, because Jacob really didn't want to come. He was content playing in the pool, and was a little intimidated by the big horses. But by the time he was done with the ride, he was so excited about it, he couldn't wait to come back next year! All the kids loved it!

Cannon Ball!

Is this not the poster child for fun at camp, or what!

Mom and Tom

There are so many pictures from camp, I don't know where to begin. Well, here's a pic of Tom and I, and a pic of "Orange" day. I color coordinated all the kids clothes, so that at a glance, I could tell which kids were mine. We had Red day, Yellow day, Dark Blue day, White day, Green day (hey, thats a band), Blue day, Orange day, and some other color day.

Camp Owassapie Scout Museum

OK, so I know I butchered the spelling of that name. I need to find out how to spell it "for reals". Here is a family pic of us outside of the scouting museum. This scout camp was established 1 year after scouting was founded in 1911. Pretty neat, eh?

Summer Reading Program Fun

This town has a summer reading program, and it's connected with all of the local schools in the district. Instead of having to go to the public library, you can go to your local school. In our case, it's only about 4 blocks away. When the kids signed up for the program, they all received a free coupons to go to Home Town Buffet. Then, after reading 4 books, they'll get a free T-shirt. They're at 2, and 2 more to go.

Little Joe

This is a great picture of Joseph. It's such a neat one, but if you look close, you'll see the real Joe. Crunched up PBJ in his hand, leaning off the playground, dirty face. Classic Joe.

Pics of Me....and the kids.....and Brent

OK. So I couldn't make up my mind what this posting was about. It's ok! Here I am with Jimmy and Joe Joe. We're all sporting our Red, White, and Blue for the 4th!

Eme and Jacob

Here are Eme and Jacob on our 4th of July hike. Actually, it's just our daily hike, but happened to be on the 4th of July. So, I guess that really does make it our 4th of July hike!

Jake thought it was funny to put the flag in his helmet. He learned though, that it was best to stick the flag in yourself, and not let someone else do it for you.

Happy Fourth of July

Here's Jimmy and Joe Joe, in the stroller, ready for our walk. We went to the Ward Activity, which started at 8:30am. We had breakfast (or the kids did), then walked around the block for a parade. We jetted shortly after that, so we could go on our "real" walk for the day. We're at Pilcher Park, getting ready for our 4 mile hike.

Here's Tom, helmet and all. He's really quite the bike rider. Sometimes he's a little too cocky. Well, he'll crash sometime real soon, and won't be such a show boat then. Hope he doesn't get too hurt. Love you Tom!

Hartys at the Nauvoo Temple

Here were all are (well, Fan is taking the picture), at the Nauvoo temple. This is a picture from Nathaniels picture. I have a whole bunch more on my camera, but there on Brents computer upstairs. I need to burn a disk so that I can put it on my laptop. Then I'll post a bunch more pictures of my family at the temple.

Nauvoo Temple

What a blessing it was to be able to go to Nauvoo. Brent and I were able to attend a session, while family watched the kids. It had been a long time since we've been together. The temple was just beautiful. To think, the the early Saints, worked for years and years on their beloved temple, and completed it in January. The, they were driven from the state the next month in February. How heartbreaking that must have been.

Kids at Carthage

All the kids at Carthage (and me)! It really was a nice day. A little warm, but by no means very hot. Just right for sightseeing. And, the jail has A/C. Thats the way to do it! Here we have Jim, Bethany, Joe, Eileen's Granddaughter, Emeline, Tom, and Jake.

Hartys at Carthage

Here are a group of us at Carthage Jail. We met with Brent's Uncle Jack and his daughter Cheryl. Aslo, we met Brents Aunt Eileen and her granddaughter, Randolph, Brandy, and Nathaniel, and our Harty Family. There were sure a lot of us.

Tom

What a good swinger! He likes this picture because he thinks his legs together like that looks like a butt crack. Boys!

Jacob the Climber

Here's Jacob, doing what he likes to do. Climb and be goofy! We held the kids off as long as we could before letting them go to the park. We knew that they would be much more well behaved for Fan and Brandy if the park was a "new" adventure!

Emeline Melissa

Notice how dirty all of the kids are? I decided that the reason I like to camp, it that I too like to be dirty!

Jimmy

Here's Jimmy at the park. Where's the cute smile? Guess he's not used to being without mom, eh?

Joe Joe at the Park

What a cute pic. Joe is either very very happy, or very very upset. There is no inbetween in this child. We were in Nauvoo for the weekend, and Uncle Fan and Aunt Brandy watched the kids for us so we could go to the temple. It was fabulous!

Bethany

And here I am. I really wanted to get my hair wet, but I would kill the pool with all the styling products in my hair! The sacrifices we make! Oh, and the sun was right in my eyes, that's why I'm making such a silly face!

Jake

Jake the Snake. He likes the water too. Splashing and having fun and being crazy are his favorite things in the pool. We like to swim around the edges all the same direction, and make a "whirpool". Funny kids

Tom

Tom is having fun learning to swim underwater. We got really cheap goggles at the Dollar Tree, which broke the same day. Oh well, what do you expect from the dollar store. Then, a few days later we got better ones from Wal-mart. They work much better, the boys tell me.

Eme

Boy is Eme getting brave in the water. She was timid like Joe last year, but watch out now! She's usually the last one out when we go in! She even gets her face wet a bit!

Joe Joe

Joe does not really like our pool. He's terrified of going under, and clings to the sides for dear life. But, on the same hand, he doesn't want to get left out of the fun. Hopefully by mid summer he'll be feeling more confident in the water. Hang in there Joe Joe

Jimmy

What a water baby. He more than any of the other babies LOVES the water. He can't get enough. Gotta love Jimmy!

All the Family

We set the camera on time on the trampoline, and I ran and jumped in the pool. We're actually all in it together, and no ones head is cut out or anything!
